What is a Dance Floor DJ?

Dance floor with DJ and personal DJ are two terms used together and their uses often overlap. This is because they are two very different things. One might describe it as the fun, fast and funky modern day take on what used to be a middle age, traditional DJ; the other one would describe it as the low end stripped down version of the early house and techno DJs who were using to rock the clubs in the late 80's and early 90's. So how do they work?

There are different types of DJ's who can both perform on a dance floor or personal dance floor. One type is a classic DJ who uses a turntable to play music. This DJ usually performs at the DJ's table while the other DJ has a separate DJ booth in the room. In some cases, a DJ booth is combined with a DJ or personal DJ so that both can be featured on the dance floor as a duo.

A little more advanced type of DJ would be the combination of the two other. With this type of DJ a DJ booth will be combined with a personal DJ booth that features a traditional DJ sound system and turntable along with the microphone and mixer used to mix the music.

Mixers have evolved along with the evolution of music technology over the years. They have been upgraded to include digital audio input and output, which allow you to connect the radio or MP3 player in your car to the mixer. A mixer will also have a speaker and mixer inside which are connected to the turntable. The mixer will be on the floor and the speakers will be on the speaker stand.

For a personal DJ the mixer is sometimes combined with a speaker to get the sound from the speakers onto the dance floor. A touch pad is also an important part of a DJ and personal DJ setup. This feature allows the DJ to perform on the dance floor while it is setup for the DJ booth. You will not only be able to monitor the sound but also have the ability to control the mixer from the couch in your home.

A classic dance floor DJ will always have one speaker and the touch pad. If you are wanting to have a music system inside the DJ booth and a DJ booth, which will have a sound system, the classic DJ will likely have one of these two systems. If you are looking for an alternative to an actual DJ booth and the mixer, a personal DJ will be the perfect alternative. A DJ will still have their mixer in the booth and also use speakers and a microphone as part of their set up.

Personal DJs are most similar to a contemporary DJ as they are both hip hop/house and techno DJs. In some cases they may be compared to rock and hip hop DJs. A typical personal DJ will probably also have a personal mixer and a personal DJ mixer. These options are to allow a DJ to mix their music with their own music style in an eclectic way.

A traditional dance floor DJ will have one mixer. It is possible to mix in a DJ booth with the mixer in the personal DJ booth. If the DJ has a mixer then they are most likely to have two different speakers attached to it which will often be a combination of stereo and subwoofer. They will have the speakers set up directly underneath their feet and have a subwoofer to put sound in the room.

A DJ who is primarily a dance floor or personal DJ will be quite compact in size and will usually be what is called a desktop. or a wireless DJ station. and the mixer will most likely be stored in the DJ booth on the floor. next to the DJ booth.
